About Kenny and Michelle

For over fifteen years, Michele and I have been creating one-of-a-kind art pieces that breathe new life into history. We repurpose antique tin ceiling tiles—painstakingly hand-salvaged from old buildings across the country—transforming them into timeless works for modern homes.

Each tile carries its own story: Harlowton, MT (1903); Camden, ME (1912); Midtown Manhattan (1920); Dickson, TN (1907)—and countless others. The pieces range from 12 x 12 inches to grand panels as large as 6 x 12 feet, allowing for endless creative possibilities.

Our handcrafted works have found homes around the world, from Buckhead to Brazil, and are featured as statement wall art, ceiling medallions, headboards, table tops, backsplashes, and custom commissions. Whether displayed in a vaulted entryway or intimate dining room, each piece is a tangible blend of history, design, and imagination.

You can find The Tin Man at major art and antique festivals year-round, including the Delray Beach Garlic Festival, Inman Park Spring Festival in Atlanta, South Beach Art Deco Festival in Miami, Taste of Alpharetta Artist Market, Delray Beach Arts Festival, and the Hillsville Antique Market—just to name a few.

Video Description

In A Conversation With Kenny “The Tinman” Hoff, artist Kenny Hoff takes viewers behind the scenes of his unique practice of repurposing antique tin-ceiling tiles into one-of-a-kind functional artworks. From sourcing and salvaging historic architectural materials across the U.S., to applying handmade finishes and imparting narrative onto each piece, Hoff reveals how history, texture, and surprise drive his work. Emphasizing the relationship between the art object and the collector’s home, he invites us into a world where reclaimed architecture becomes art, form becomes function, and every dent and patina tells a story.
